I think I would rather teach a high school class myself. Although I know the difficulty of dealing with teenagers, I think I would be able to relate to the students pretty well. I think it would also be cool to be able to have the authority and power that a teacher has while being pretty close in age to the students. It seems like quite a fun thing to be able to do. However, it is likely students will not take teachers that are my age very seriously. If my parents were to teach class I do not know how that would turn out. If anything it would be embarrassing at the most although I do not think they would do a terrible job.

I think my dream job would probably be a doctor. More specifically, I would like to do something along the lines of radiology or orthopedics. Growing up and playing sports as well as getting injured for quite some time, I think I can relate to people of various age groups and their own muscle or bone problems. And as much as sucks to have, I really appreciated all the various doctors and physical therapists that helped me recover and even become stronger. I have always been interested in how the different parts of the body work and how to best utilize how to use your body as well as how not to use it. A second career that I want to do is being an astronomer. Ever since I was young, I used to lay down on some grass, look up at the night sky, and enjoy all the stars in it. As a kid it was really calming, and if it were not for parents or friends, I could spend hours just doing that. It seems like a really interesting job to do. Also if possible I would like to have my own personal planetarium. Ever since I saw one at Bishop Museum in elementary school, I have always wanted one for myself.
As much as I love to sleep I would probably take the three hours. Having to sleep 12 hours a night can be troublesome when you need to stay up to finish various homework or projects. Also sleeping over at a friends house would be extremely boring because you would be the first one asleep every time. Being sleep deprived every night is not fun and pretty much every Iolani student should know that. However, I think even if it is not healthy, there are some people who can run on extremely minimal hours of sleep. I hope I would be one of them and still be productive. I also heard there are certain benefits of being sleepy such as creativity when writing. On another positive note, the less you sleep, the more hours you can be living your life and doing things you want to do.
The May Day assembly to me has always been pretty fun compared to some other assemblies we have. Last year, I actually participated in May Day through a hula dance with some of my dance 4K class. It was slightly awkward with the kindergarteners being a little more than a foot away from us and staring at us like we were some strange people. It is also hard to keep an expression when various classmates sitting in the bleachers are staring at you and trying to make you laugh. Although I did not mess up, there were many times where I was close to purely because I spotted some people I knew and I lost focus. My favorite May Day memory I think was at May Day a couple years back was when we had some big guys from our football do a Samoan slap dance and teachers were sticking money to them. It was pretty entertaining to watch and it definitely was a crowd favorite.
I think I found the entire peer revision process helpful. Based off the College Essay rubric I feel as though I can look specifically on what I need to improve on in my essay. Especially getting feedback from someone other than myself is very helpful. I also feel that my peer editor was able to help me direct my focus better onto specific values and overall help fix the flow of my essay. I feel a lot more comfortable heading into the next steps of my essay if I had not done the peer conferencing. Although there are still parts of my essay I feel like I need to work on, I know generally speaking, which parts need more work than others. I look to continue to make my essay flow the best it can while keeping an interesting story.
I think the first thing I would want the state to reopen is the beaches. Because of state law, many of the popular beaches are closed and thus many of the surf breaks are closed as well. As a result, many people flock to the same breaks and it is often very crowded in the water. Although I am happy I am able to be in the water, it is a little difficult with so many people there. Reopening beaches would allow people to spread out more among the breaks and not crowd one spot or area too densely. While it may not be the smartest thing to do as beaches are known as common locations for social gatherings it would be helpful for the overcrowding at various surf breaks especially in town. It also would give people more things to do and a little more options in terms of leisure or exercise.
I think the biggest thing that has changed for me is my workout routine. Often because of the loads of homework and tests and other things, I was not able to find much time out of school to workout. Now, because I have a little less of a load and a lot more time, I manage to workout more often than I was before. I am still pretty lazy, but one of my classmates, Noah Gaudi sends me motivational quotes that never fail to inspire my work habit. Even when I feel tired and I want to just lie in bed and watch movies all day, Noah’s motivational Monday quotes always help me jump up and lift weights or even go on a run. Like most people, the amount of time I have had on my hands has allowed me a lot of freedom to get into new interests. However, I mostly chose to eat, sleep, or workout. I feel like we still have a long way to go but I am sure we can all get through this together.
When I first chose my topic, I felt relatively happy with how it sounded. It seemed pretty interesting to me and something I could write a lot about. Although this is a good thing for brainstorming, it is a little bit more difficult when having to deal with a word limit. Writing too little or too much about the experience might not be effective on the narrative as a whole. As I continue to write, I feel like I need to find to write my narrative in the most effective way possible while also trying to stay within the required boundaries for words. Other than that, I like my topic and I hope I can make something good out of it.
My favorite fair memory would definitely be in 6th or 7th grade (I can not really remember). I remember before we had the cards to scan for rides, we had ride coupons or tickets. During this time, I used to go on so many rides. My favorite would definitely be the infamous fireball. Sadly this ride would no longer be a part of fair after this year. However, I am happy to say I enjoyed it to the fullest. I lost track of how many times I rode on that ride. On the last day of fair probably about 15 minutes before closing, a couple friends and I rode the fireball as much as we could to finish up the rest of our ride tickets. Just as we spent our last ones we were getting ready to look for our parents. However, two older guys, one being Jordan Botelho, gave us a whole bunch of ride coupons they had not spent. We didn’t want it to go to waste so we ended up riding the fireball at least 5 or 6 more times before the ride closed and fair ended. There was no line so as soon as we got off we ran around and got right back on. It was a really fun time and one of my favorite fair memories.
